Uncertainties

Las époque, Time

April 29, 2015

Today is a Wednesday.
A simple one.
No class, no meetings, no appointments, no events.

As usual, my alarm rang at 9am sharp.
I got up, muted it and laid back to continue my sleep again.
Again. Hahaha.
I have no idea why I always find myself hard to get up from my warm cozy lil bed.
The struggle is real.
 Haiz.

Two hours later,
I got up reluctantly, switched on the wifi device, connected my phone to it,
tidied up my bed, washed myself,
bade my Dad goodbye as he left for work,
and grabbed a pear as my breakfast.

Yup, after two months time,
I'm finally homed.

Home is a place you grow up wanting to leave,
and grow old wanting to get back to.”
― John ed Pearce

It has been five months ago since I last updated my life here.
Recalling back to all the extreme ups and downs,
I can't imagine that I have been through all of them.
In just 164 days.

In just 164 days,
I have travelled to the Pavilion, KLCC, KLIA, Ipoh and Jiuzhaigou in China.
I have visited companies and NGOs such as MaGIC, Genovasi, TFM, orphanage homes etc.
I have been to museums, caves, forests and national parks.
I have participated in different conferences, workshops, seminars and appointments.
I have attended various parties, events and gatherings.
I have met people from all around Malaysia and even from all around the world.

It was my first time wearing heels and formal dress to attend appointments.
My first time dancing with full confidence with 300+ people in a hall.
(I suck at dancing. Don't try to challenge me for that. LOL)
My first time drinking alcohol and vodka until my head couldn't tahan anymore.
My first time wearing a white baggy lab coat doing experiment of flowers and plants.
My first time working as a waitress in Secret Recipe serving food and drinks.
My first time realising that I am able to serve 4 dishes and 7 glass of drinks at one go too.

My first time freezing in the cold until I couldn't feel my toes anymore.
My first time wearing a green t-shirt to attend various education fairs and
proudly to say that I am the student ambassador of UNMC.
My first time being busy and stressed to the extent that I almost burned out.
My first time being so happy to see my best friend finally found her true love.
(To be honest, it's a mixed feeling with sadness yet still happy for her as well.)
And to add on,
my first time seeing Dr. Mahathir and his daughter in such close distant
that my hands could even reach them (only if I'm allowed to haha).

My life couldn't have been more splendid like this ever.
Throughout this period of time,
I laughed, I cried, I gone cray cray, I broke down, I get hyper, I fell sick,
yet most of the times,
I'm still embraced by love.

Love from my family,
Love from my friends,
Love from the great nature,
and the love towards my own self.

Love is like the wind, you can't see it but you can feel it.
― Nicholas Sparks, A Walk to Remember

“When everything goes to hell,
the people who stand by you without flinching -- they are your Family. ”
― Jim Butcher

My family isn't perfect.
We argue, we fight.
We even stop talking to each other at times,
but in the end, family is family,
I know they will always be there for me.

I know my Dad and my brother will stand in front of me if I were bullied.
No other man in the world will love me as much as they do.
I know my Mum will always buy me good food and nice clothes if I requested.
She is the only one in the world who will also cry if I cry and smile if I were happy.

Family is a gift that lasts forever.
It is where life begins and love never ends.

I love my Dad n Mum, my brother, my aunt, both my grandmas and my little cutie Sophee.
To me, they meant the world.

I couldn't be more grateful than I am right now,
to have these bunch of  people in my life.

They say good friends know all your stories,
but best friends help you to write them.

To my most caring Foon Yew gang,
my most awesome AIESEC friends,
and my most lovely, funny course mates,
thank you so much for being part of my life.
I honestly don't know how my uni life will be without you guys.

“Don't walk behind me; I may not lead.
Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow.
Just walk beside me and be my friend.
― Albert Camus

My first year of uni is going to end soon.
The memory when I first arrived in Nottingham and enrolled myself is still so fresh
that I could even remember that day was a Monday and it was drizzling.

On the first day when my uni life officially started,
I knew my dearest friends and family are not here by my side anymore.
They are in China, Indonesia, Singapore and some back in my hometown.
I told myself,
nobody is gonna wipe your tears, lend you a shoulder and back you up anymore.
I have to depend on my own.

Sometimes I do feel lonely,
I feel demotivated,
I feel helpless.
I don't know will someone be there for me if I fell down one day.
I don't know who should I look for if I feel like crying.
I don't know who is willing to listen if I want to share my troubles or sorrows.
I don't know whose shoulder or ear I can trust.

You can't be happy unless you're unhappy sometimes.”
― Lauren Oliver, Delirium

Time passed and I was proven wrong.
Life can still be amazing as hell
even my high school friends were not here with me.
Although there are times that I really miss them,
I know they will be doing as fine as I do.

Family isn't always blood.
It's the people in your life who wants you in theirs;
the ones who accept you for who you are.
The ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what.

A few weeks ago when I was randomly surfing the web,
I stumbled upon a quote.

Life is short. Smile while you still have your teeth.

I don't know why but it just struck me so hard that makes me ponder on my current state of life.
It was then when I started questioning myself.

Am I paying full attention when people are telling jokes to make me laugh?
Am I laughing hard enough when I find them amused?
Am I still feeling amazed when I looked up and watched the blue dazzling sky?
Am I still being proud and happy when people say thankiew to my small little deeds?
Am I enjoying my life with these simple little pleasures?
Am I still smiling to make others smile?

I remembered someone asked me, What is Life?
I thought for a few seconds and answered, I don't know.
He told me it's from B to D. From Birth to Death.
His next question is, So what's between B and D?
This time without hesitating, I answered It's a "C".

So what's a "C"?
It is a Choice.

Our life is a matter of choices,
live well and it will never go wrong.

Lastly is to share the photos taken with my three most favorites whenever I'm home-bound.
Hehehe.

Her name is Sophee.
And the other two are my dear piano and ukulele.
